Eurasia Specialized Veterinary Publication publishes under an open access model, and we mean that in the fullest sense: every article we release is available to read, free of charge, worldwide, starting the day it's published.
This isn't a formality for us. We think research that sits behind a paywall fails at its basic purpose. A finding that could change how a clinician treats an animal, or how a graduate student designs their next study, shouldn't be locked away from the people who need it simply because their institution can't afford access. Open access removes that barrier, and in doing so, it lets veterinary science move the way it's meant to — quickly, broadly, and across borders.
Readers and authors can expect
There's no cost to read our journals. Anyone, anywhere, can access an article the moment it's published — no login, no subscription, no institutional credentials needed.
Authors don't give up ownership of their work by publishing with us. Copyright stays with the author; what we ask for is a non-exclusive license to publish the piece. Beyond that, authors are free to reuse, share, and build on their own research however they see fit.
We also take the long view on preservation. Once an article is published, it's archived permanently, so the work remains part of the scholarly record long after the initial publication date.
Licensing terms
Our journals publish under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 4.0 International License (CC BY-NC-SA 4.0). In practice, this means readers can share, copy, adapt, and build on published work, provided three conditions are met: the original authors and source are properly credited, the material isn't put to commercial use, and any derivative work carries forward the same license terms. We chose this license deliberately. It keeps published research open and usable by the wider community, while still protecting authors from having their work commercially exploited without consent.
