The editorial process at International Journal of Veterinary Research and Allied Sciences is guided independently by the Editor-in-Chief, working closely with the Editorial Board and Associate Editors. This structure is designed to keep editorial decisions free from outside influence at every stage.
All final publication decisions rest with the Editor-in-Chief, informed by a structured double-blind peer-review process. Associate Editors and independent external reviewers each play a role in this process, and every decision is grounded in scientific merit, originality, methodological soundness, ethical integrity, and relevance to the journal's scope — nothing else factors in.
Manuscripts move through several stages before a decision is reached: an initial editorial screening, assessment by subject experts, external peer review, and finally, the editor's decision. This layered approach is meant to keep the process transparent, fair, and scientifically sound throughout.
As a general standard, at least two independent, favorable expert reviews are needed before a manuscript can be accepted. When reviewers disagree, the journal will bring in an additional expert opinion rather than settling the matter on a split decision — the goal is always an objective, evidence-based outcome.
It's worth noting that the publisher and any affiliated organizations play no role whatsoever in how manuscripts are handled — they are not involved in selecting reviewers, managing peer review, evaluating submissions, or deciding what gets published. That responsibility stays entirely within the editorial team.
Editors and Associate Editors are also expected to step back from any manuscript where they have a conflict of interest, so that every submission is judged fairly and without bias.
Taken together, these practices reflect the journal's ongoing commitment to editorial independence, transparency, and scientific integrity — in line with COPE guidelines and internationally recognized standards of publication ethics.
